BOOK OF DANIEL
Sunday, April 11, was our first session of our new study of Daniel (Chapter 1), led by Shirley Wilkie. If you were unable to join us on the 11th, you are not too late - Chapter 2 will be discussed on April 18th.
In this study we meet Daniel, a visionary and Friend to God. NIV Bible says this Book will show us the major theme of Daniel, that God was sovereign, and He was working out His plan for nations and individuals in existence at that time – 605-535 B.C., 6 (six) centuries before Jesus was earthly-born. The next 11 chapters will also center on this profound truth – God is sovereign. He was in charge then, He is in charge here and NOW. Daniel’s life is a picture of the triumph of faith – that standing up for what’s right is never easy.
Study references are David Guzik Daniel Commentary; Handwriting on the Wall by Dr. David Jeremiah; Life Lessons from Daniel by Max Lucado; and NIV Study Bible.
YOU are invited to join us Sunday mornings, 8:45 a.m. in room 125. Contact Linda Calhoun (918-231-0132) if you have questions or would like more information. We hope to see you Sunday!
